The vest is the iconic piece of our house (L'EGOÏSTE).
Thus, our designer had the idea of making a unique creation for you; a vest made on the basis of emblematic vintage clothing found all over the world. Here we have worked with shibori fabrics.
Our One to One project will breathe new life into these historic garments. And it is our designer who will take care of making each of the vests himself.
It's our way of doing up-cycling. At a time of overconsumption and the mass-produced textile industry, we have chosen to recycle clothes that carry history to offer you a totally unique piece.
Shibori is an ancestral and complex dyeing technique from Japan. On this fabric appear several geometric shapes that are made using various folding processes such as knots, seams. The goal is to tint the fabric with natural indigo, leaving certain areas with little or no tint (thanks to the folding of the fabric) to thus form patterns.
We sourced these fabrics from the African desert where the indigo dyeing technique is exactly the same as that used in Japan. Thanks to these fabrics, we have made a shibori patchwork by hand and in a traditional way in our own workshop in Lisbon.
Patchwork consists of assembling together several fabrics from different fabrics to form a single canvas.
The important thing is to combine pieces of fabric in order to find a balance and an aesthetic result. It's a real work of art.
This model has a straight cut. The lining will be different on each vest, but each piece will have a reversible martingale that will allow you to tighten the vest at your convenience. There are also two integrated pockets (for each side of the vest) at the pocket of the vest, these are Japanese madras fabrics with a bandana pattern.
Acquiring this unique piece means choosing to trust the designer and let him create an original vest for you.
These pieces will not be exactly as you see them in the photos, each will have a unique fabric, wash, color and lining.
As soon as you place your order, we will tell you about the progress of the project in real time thanks to several photos that will be sent to you.
It is important for us to share with you the realization of this vest because it begins a new story and it is thanks to you.

Reversible vest with one side in Italian blue seersucker, 100% cotton. The edges of the pockets have a red-selvedge braid. It has a built-in bandana red pouch in the chest pocket.
The other side is a blue/navy linen herringbone.
The back is a faded chambray.

The back is a fine, faded chambray fabric.
The lining is an Italian fabric with thin white stripes.
It has 2 interior pockets and a martingale at the back.

Men's vest in khaki wool herringbone. The pattern obtained by its weaving is dense and thick.
The back is made of khaki cotton fabric.
A martingale allows it to be tightened at the waist.

The lining is a navy linen and cotton fabric, with white stripes.

Vest in Japanese jacquard fabric, with 'piping' edges in navy knit, the back is a very light wabash denim because it has been bleached.
Its cut is "relaxed", its fabric makes it light and pleasant to wear.

The Dandy is our reversible double-breasted waiscoast.
One of the sides is a shetland wool fabric, in shades of beige and made especially for (L'EGOÏSTE). The other side is cotton with fancy white and beige stripes.

This vest is designed like a tailored vest, based on a small quilted down jacket. We have placed a 100% Italian wool flannel rather than a synthetic nylon in order to continue to remain chic while being sporty.
