HISTORY

The waistcoat is the iconic piece of our house (L'EGOÏSTE).

Our designer had the idea of making this cardigan based on emblematic mottled vintage fabrics; the Shibori.

Shibori is an ancestral and complex dyeing technique from Japan. On this fabric appear several geometric shapes that are made using various folding processes such as knots, seams.

The goal is to tint the fabric with natural indigo, leaving certain areas with little or no tint (thanks to the folding of the fabric) to thus form patterns.

QUALITY

This vest is 100% reversible and unique. The rarity of this fabric forces us to make only a limited quantity of this vest.

To make it, we shaped a patchwork by hand, in our workshop, from 100% cotton Shibori, Madras and Garza fabrics.

Patchwork consists of assembling together several fabrics from different fabrics to form a single canvas. The important thing is to combine pieces of fabric in order to find a balance and an aesthetic result. It's a real work of art.

The other side is in linen with an irregular and unstructured herringbone weave that gives it character. Its color is a bleached indigo and its back is chambray.

It has a reversible martingale in the back that you can tighten at your convenience. It also has a built-in bandana red pouch inside the chest pocket.

STYLE

It's a vest that is totally part of our philosophy with a chic, sober and elegant side of the vest that will be perfect for your ceremonies for example. And the other side will give you a more atypical and original look thanks to its patchwork in indigo colors and its Shibori patterns.

It will be perfect for the summer season.
