Making the Vest

Behind the scenes of our workshop...

It has now been almost two years since we acquired our own workshop, in Lisbon, where we create each of our collections.

Our designer thinks, imagines, draws. Our pattern maker creates the patterns on paper, by hand. Each template is laid out manually then cut into the fabric. Our seamstresses then take care of the assembly and finishing.

It is true artisan work where everything is made by hand. This type of production takes longer and is more rigorous but allows us to guarantee impeccable quality and bring our most original ideas to life. The impeccable drape and cut of our clothes are made possible only by this manual process.

How are our vests constructed ?

We have decided to reveal to you the work that goes into the flagship and emblematic piece of our house: the vest, and more particularly the Marius model.

It's a garment that has made our reputation, if we had to choose just one, it would be this one. It has a classic fitted cut, a martingale in the back for adjustment at the waist, a lapel collar and three pockets.

The cotton fabrics that make up the back are white, we then have them dyed in an artisanal pigment dye factory, developing and choosing exclusive shades unique to our house.

The stages of making the vest

It takes 28 patterns and the work of 13 people to build a Marius vest.

Many operations must be carried out. We can cite a few of them such as iron-on, sewing the darts, creating the topstitched slits which accommodate and hold the buttons, adding our signature ribbon to several places on the vest, the numerous ironings so that the elements are flat before being sewn...

Here is a summary of these manufacturing steps...

We can't imagine the work, the precision and the time that a piece like the vest requires and yet, you will have understood, you have to arm yourself with patience and above all know-how. Each step is important, we leave nothing to chance.

We are far from fast fashion and the automation of large manufacturers...

We impose this requirement on ourselves to offer you ever more original, timeless and durable pieces.

Quality is our priority.

Know-how and precision are the keys to sustainability
