Do you know the story of the Jungle Jacket?

This season, we are reissuing the 4 iconic military jackets. Today, we present Hanoi to you. Discover the other three very soon...

It was worn by American soldiers during the Vietnam War, from 1963. It had to be adapted and resistant to the climatic conditions of the Asian continent.

This jacket has 2 large bellows pockets on the hips and 2 on the chest. They are very easy to access thanks to their inclination. Indeed, in the military field, each element is designed for a practical reason, nothing is left to chance.

There are 3 versions of the jungle jacket, which, over time, have been reworked and perfected according to the needs of the soldiers and the flaws observed.

In this photo, it is the 1st version, carried by the general, on the right. The pocket buttons were visible and the model had shoulder pads; elements that will disappear.

The jacket we made was inspired by the 3rd type, which appeared in 1969. Unlike the previous ones which were in cotton poplin, this one is in Ripstop cotton, so much more resistant. Its weave includes a nylon thread that reinforces the fabric. Thus, it will therefore prevent the propagation of a possible tear. It is a weave that gives a squared appearance to the fabric.

This jacket is at the same time practical, solid and aesthetic. Historically, it was very wide, so we reworked it to offer it a fitted cut, based on that of a blazer, it now has an impeccable fall. It has also been stone-washed to give it a vintage look.

To enhance its style, we added badges with a military spirit. You can remove them if you don't like them, or on the contrary, add others and customize the jacket as you wish for an even more personal and original look.

The Hanoi, designed for the Vietnamese jungle will know how to acclimatize very well to our Parisian jungle !
