The Shawl Collar

What Is The Story Of The Shawl Collar?

The shawl collar has a rounded shape, it is a continuous lapel without a notch.

It was inspired by Victorian jackets, dating from the years 1837-1901, they were made of silk or velvet with a rounded collar. It is a jacket that men put on when they went to smoke to protect their evening wear from the smell or the ashes of cigarettes.

The shawl collar has many similarities with the collar of the pea coats worn by the dockers, who by raising it, could easily cover their neck, and protect themselves from the cold and bad weather.

We have made this collar on some of our vests and our worker jacket.

It gives a less classic shape to the garment, with a style that is both casual and elegant, but even more authentic and original !

For a biker, docker style!
