The Tartan Pattern

- Categories : All

The Tartan and the Prince of Wales are famous woven patterns, of Scottish origin, linked by their history and their clan, as you will discover in the next lines...

These fabrics, made up of intersecting vertical and horizontal lines, are classic and historic. We have reworked them with a real touch of originality and modernity by creating asymmetrical patchworks, entirely handmade.

It's our way of breaking codes, matching styles and giving a more contemporary dimension to these patterns while retaining their elegance and symbolism. Our creativity now has no limits thanks to our workshop which allows us to give life to each of our ideas.

The Tartan

The tartan pattern has been used on clothing since the 12th century, in Scotland. Each clan (family) had its own colors and this served to distinguish the different social classes.

This new design is now ours. Choosing our vests means joining our clan.

The Prince of Wales

This pattern was created by an English countess, living in Scotland, for her servants as they were not allowed to wear tartan due to their social status. It was not until 1934 that the Prince of Wales democratized it and then we marginalized it.

The Tartan/Denim

This tartan patchwork vest is completely reversible with a cotton flannel composition on one side and a genuine Japanese denim wabash fabric on the other. It is the link between two countries famously renowned for the quality and prestige of their fabric, Scotland and Japan.
