The White Jean Trend

The History of Jean and his canvas

It was the tailor, Jacob Davis who created denim pants in 1873. The idea was to develop a strong and comfortable garment for workers operating in difficult conditions. To do so, he used denim fabrics from Levi Strauss & Co. Only problem; the trouser pockets were not strong enough, they tore too easily. He therefore had the idea of integrating copper rivets into the corners of the pockets to reinforce them... Rivet jeans were born!

The fit of the 5-pocket jeans is timeless, it is the most traditional. It therefore has 2 pockets at the back, 2 at the front and a small last one, the 5th which is placed in the front right side pocket of the jeans. Historically, it was used to place his pocket watch. As a signature, our house has also added its signature edging, distinctive of a real red-selvedge canvas.

We cannot talk about the origins of jeans without talking about indigo... It is an ancestral and natural dye, with very particular purplish-blue nuances. The jeans of the time were tinted with this pigment, which gave it its name “blue jeans”.

Before being dyed, the fabric of raw jeans is white and the trend this year has shifted to jeans with lighter, more natural shades; white, ecru, beige.

Our house therefore wanted to respond to demand by taking up the idea of white jeans by creating 2 cuts, 2 canvas finishes for 2 distinct styles.

Our white jeans

We have developed two jeans, made from genuine Japanese red-selvedge canvas, 14 oz (identifiable at the ankle, inside). We have already discussed the origin and quality of this dense fabric, with a red border, so authentic and special. It is a canvas that lives and evolves over time, adapting to your body shape. It’s the stuff of denim purists.

This is the real white jeans, this essential and timeless model.

Its cut is straight for a classic look, so straight on the leg, fitted at the waist and tighter at the ankle.

It can be worn on a daily basis as well as for more chic occasions. It's up to you to combine it with the rest of your outfit!

It was made in the same canvas but raw, natural and textured, without treatment or dyeing, its tones are therefore beige. Its tapered cut is loose for an oversized and trendy style. If you have generous hips, this fit will suit you perfectly. For a looser style, with a boyfriend look, it will be perfect for the game. Your fiancée might even borrow it from you...

It’s a piece of character that offers endless possibilities because white goes with everything ! Enough to develop your creativity and showcase your originality...

Two jeans, two styles, which one will you choose ?
