The Western Trendy Overshirt

- Categories : All

Do you know the history of this style ?

It was inspired by the cowboys of the 1840s. Their work clothes had to be strong, durable and comfortable to withstand the living conditions on the ranches.

This look was then largely influenced and democratized by famous western films. Broadcast from the 1930s, they left room for renowned actors whom we wanted to resemble. Between cowboy boots, checked shirts, hats, but also bandanas, leather vests and even suede shirts, this original style did not go unnoticed and bore witness to an authentic and historical universe.

Today and due to the trend, many clothes are inspired by this American Wild West look.

This photo was taken from the 1958 film Cowboy where Glenn Ford (in the middle of this photo) wears a suede shirt. It is this type of model and this universe that inspired us to create the piece that we are presenting to you today.

Our interpretation of the western overshirt

We therefore wanted to make an overshirt in this style. To do this, we worked for 2 years with our English partner on the development of this suede fabric so that it comes as close as possible to the aesthetics and comfort of real suede but without its disadvantages.

Like authentic western overshirts, this one has two chest pockets, a button placket on the sleeves and copper buttons.

It was cut and sewn by hand in the traditional way in our workshop.

It’s a piece that sets its trend. Whether worn with a vest and tie or in a more casual look with a sweater and a bandana, in both cases it brings a surprising and elegant "western" touch.

Let yourself be carried away by the story...
